Shadient has one question for the people posting their best lives on social media - have you no burden? The experimental bass producer is proud to present his debut album on SLANDER and NGHTMRE’s established GUD VIBRATIONS label. The album consists of songs that speak to anyone who identifies as a misfit, aiming to connect them and bring solace during a time of despair. The 13 track album features the poignant vocals of fknsyd, Catnapp, and sh4dows, alongside Shadient’s unmissable industrial bass sounds.

This is the music that Shadient has always dreamed of making. The UK-based artist felt moved by the universal feeling of stagnance experienced by the world during the pandemic. Having felt like an outsider from the UK throughout his dance music career, he was inspired by the strange sense of unity experienced during the worldwide lockdown.

His appreciation of finding strength in moments of solitude is ever-present throughout Have You No Burden. Four of its tracks have already graced the world: the dystopian “Ego Insaniac'' and “Dancing Alone Again,'' a track that captures feelings of loneliness while fknsyd’s catchy vocals give the track an ethereal pop tone, as well as his recent two-tracker release “Crash / Roadworks.''

Not limited to one genre, the album will take you on a vast musical journey. “Sympathy Coil” is the provocative standout of the album that maintains an alternative pop edge while capturing the magic of dance music. “Roadworks'' paces the album and brings in elements of hyperpop to achieve a joyful yet melancholy ambiance, while “Solitary” opens with a distant storm and leads into an explosive layer of sounds and instruments.

The versatility of Have You No Burden keeps listeners on their toes, and will leave fans feeling less alone in their struggles. Shadient created this album to make fans feel understood, in the same way that he has long used music as a way to experience his darker emotions. With the notion that we all must be forthcoming about our feelings, Shadient aims to continue an open dialogue with his listeners about the struggles we experience day to day, not just the highlights. As the world emerges out of lockdown, he believes there is still room to feel deeply and understand one another with a sense of common humanity. Through the haze of uncertainty that the future holds, Shadient brings you Have You No Burden.

On the origin of his artist identity, he says, “It was a name I made in 2015 at college, from the get-go it was this world of ideas I had rushing into my head of metallic and industrial imagery, dark visual aspects, noise and bass leaning music.” His most recent EP, Divide, was released on Gud Vibrations in 2019 and was then followed up with "Get Wicked" with WAVEDASH. His debut EP in 2017, winter=reality, and single “Collider,” were released on Mat Zo’s highly regarded Mad Zoo label and his past releases have charted worldwide on the iTunes Electronic charts and Beatport.
