Belgian artist and songwriter Yves Paquet announces his debut album ‘Every Now And Then’ to be released on April 2nd.

‘Every Now And Then’ was written by Yves, co-composed by Dutch writer Joël Gaerthé (The Howlin’) & produced by Ant Whiting (MIA, John Newman, Ella Eyre) and Patrice (Selah Sue).

‘Every Now And Then’ is an album about time. As much about capturing the vibe of a specific moment (‘Flow’) as about remembering simpler times as a whole (‘25-28’), and maybe most importantly: realising that all things come and go… and tend to come back in cycles. Consequently, ‘Cycles’ is the album opener for ‘Every Now And Then’, but it’s also the first song that was written for it. To Yves, the track symbolises a new beginning for him as an artist.

Being an active listener of different genres gave Yves a vivid appreciation for eclecticism - a theme that runs through all of his artistic endeavours and is embedded in his personality. He remembers listening to classic albums (from The Police to Eric Clapton and Kate Bush) in his father’s office and being deeply inspired by them to this day. Vocal wise, Yves cites Damon Albarn, Jim Adkins and Adam Levine as inspirations. So while it was always clear to him that pop would be the fabric of his songs, Yves keeps searching for (and finding) different facettes and colors of pop.

That brings us to ‘Every Now And Then’. An album with a multitude of influences, inspired by modern pop, but dips deep into 80’s and 90’s pop sounds as well. A colourful album that’s not afraid to sound pure and take risks.

“In essence, this is a very positive, colorful album”, Yves points out. “There’s no slow ballad on it, but there are romantic songs. Or at least my take on what a romantic song can sound like. There are songs to dance to, songs that make you think about yourself, a moment in time. It’s an album with a certain nostalgia that I catch every now and then.”

ABOUT YVES PAQUET
Belgian artist and songwriter Yves Paquet started out in the music world doing a lot of collabs in the international house and drum & bass scene, including German language infused hit ‘UFO’ with The Subs (#1 in the Belgian Dance Charts), which gave him a deeper understanding on creating a dance atmosphere and how to phrase words to their best effect. He also did a number of R&B and hip-hop features, but deep down he always knew that his true calling was the true art of pop music.

Yves Paquet’s debut album ‘Every Now And Then’ will be released on April 2.
