Incredibly excited to announce that Sum 41’s single “Landmines” has officially hit #1 at Alternative radio in the US! The single has steadily climbed the chart since its release on Sept 27th last year. It marks the band’s first ever #1 at Mediabase Alternative. It is their second #1 at Billboard Alternative. Their first was over 20 years ago when “Fat Lip” went to #1 in August, 2001. This marks a new record gap between # 1’s (record previously held by The Killers).
“Landmines” has now achieved close to 35,000 spins at radio in the US with 46 million impressions thus far at monitored radio. These numbers will continue to grow as the song is not done yet!
The song was the first single released from the band’s upcoming final double album, Heaven :x: Hell, which is set to be released later this month on March 29th and is their first on Rise Records/BMG. The album is available for pre-order now. The album also features singles “Rise Up” and “Waiting On A Twist Of Fate”. The campaign around the album has already seen the band hit #1 at Alternative Radio, Active Rock Radio and Big Picture Radio in Canada as well as an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show and covers with New Noise and Rock Sound Magazine. Other press coverage including GQ, New York Post, US Weekly, Kerrang, NME and Consequence.
The band announced that Heaven :x: Hell will be their last album ahead of the “Landmines” release. They are currently in China on the first leg of their final world tour which will run through to early 2025, culminating in a final show at the Scotiabank Arena in their home market of Toronto, ON on January 30th, 2025. The show sold out in 24 hours. Shows in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco are sold out also, as is their Nov 23rd show in Paris at the 35,000 capacity La Defensé Arena.
