Nina Kinert, previously known as Nina K, is back with a brand new song! This Friday, the Swedish singer releases her new single Der Dom il Duomo, taken from the upcoming studio album Romantic – which is scheduled for release on May 11th.
Nina had her big international breakthrough in 2007, when car manufacturer SAAB used her single Through Your Eyes for their global advertising campaign. The follow-up single Beast, taken from her album Pets & Friends, became a radio hit throughout Europe and was followed by the Star Wars inspired album Red Leader Dream in 2010.
Nina Kinerts new album ROMANTIC is a manifesto of what her songwriting, and music in general, has meant to her. The album’s theme is based on romanticism, in several aspects. During the writing process, Nina went back to the absolute core of her artistry: She changed her name back to Nina Kinert, from the swift and sublime moniker Nina K she used for On Ice (2015) and several collaborations around that time. She also stopped being afraid of being labeled a “singer/songwriter” and started writing all songs on her broken piano (avoiding middle C).
The theme became a guiding light even throughout the whole recording process. When in doubt, go for the most romantic choice. This lead to arrangements with piano, harps, flutes and strings. Romantic also features the single “Chapped Lips” – sung together with Sam T Herring from Future Islands. The album was produced by Daniel Fagerström (The Skull Defekts, Optic Nest etc) and mastered by Heba Kadry (Björk, Beach House etc).
