Malmö-based psychedelic doom wizards MOON COVEN drag you into exquisitely gloomy realms with their second single "Ceremony", streaming exclusively on Metal Injection. New album 'Slumber Wood' will be released on May 7th through Ripple Music.
With their two full-lengths 'Amanita Kingdom' (2014) and 'Moon Coven' (2016) under their belt, Malmö, Sweden's psychedelic doom craftsmen MOON COVEN are now all ready to unleash the otherworldly forces of their third album and Ripple Music debut 'Slumber Wood' upon this world. According to Metal Injection, new single “Ceremony” is “a trace-like exploration of sonic heaviness and emotion-laden doom that won't be soon forgotten.”

About the song, the band explains: "With Ceremony, we wanted to do a long song and pack it with everything that we like. It got guitar solos, it got the typical Moon Coven riffs, it got drive and it’s heavy. The song evolves going from part to part until it builds up to a crescendo in the end. Most of the riffs in the song were written by our guitarist Axel. The lyrics tell the story of a person who ends up in a place where he was never meant to be with circumstances he cannot control, and in the end he embraces madness and violence and becomes someone he never thought possible".
Their third album 'Slumber Wood' pushes the band's experimental approach further through eight confident and mind-infiltrating steamrollers, worthy of playing in the same league as modern days stoner doom pillars such as Mars Red Sky, Monolord or even Acid King.
