Returning today, 25th June following a brief hiatus – Manchester alternative outfit Fuzzy Sun step into a new era with ‘Fake It’.

Despite a difficult 2020, the enforced isolation of the recent events provided Fuzzy Sun with the opportunity to reflect and forge a new identity amidst a tempestuous global backdrop. Returning in 2021 with their clearest and most defined identity to date, Fuzzy Sun’s melded range of eclectic tastes finds them re-emerging with the band at their genre-defying best.

Speaking about their new direction, vocalist and guitarist Kyle Ross elaborates, “We wanted to make an impact with the new single, pushing a new creative direction for the band, as I think we have really found a sound that excites us and we feel comfortable with.”

Described by Fuzzy Sun as a “real balls to the wall guitar tune with flare” – the self-recorded and produced ‘Fake It’ finds Fuzzy Sun influenced by staple artists including Radiohead, Blur and The Smashing Pumpkins; elevating their anthemic, guitar-driven song writing with cinematic textures which sit beneath soaring melodies.

“The song itself is about feeling rather disenchanted with society and putting on a brave face when in fact you feel the complete opposite, which is something we can all relate to. It was inspired by a dark time, with the hope of things getting better.”, tells Kyle.

After a quick start on the scene that saw tours with major UK artists and their first run of European dates, sold out headline shows at Manchester’s Gorilla, Academy 3 and London’s Camden Assembly – Fuzzy Sun, tipped by everyone from NME’s 100 List, DORK, Earmilk, Gigwise, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Radio X and Spotify’s New Music Friday UK and Hot New Bands playlists take on 2021 fuelled by boundless energy and an unstoppable ethos.

‘Fake It’ is released Friday 25th June, taken from a new EP - due late 2021.

Fuzzy Sun will headline Manchester’s Academy 2 on Friday 10th December.
