Pioneering Australian artist Dub FX has unveiled a new live video for his recently released first single Fire Every Day, filmed in a single take on a Brixton rooftop by BD Films and featuring artists Woodnote, Gaudi and Andy Talkbox Mac.

Renowned for pioneering heavy electronic dub style beats on the streets, using only his voice and a loop station, Australian Artist Dub FX recently released Fire Every Day, the lead single from his new album due early 2020.

Dub FX describes the experience of filming: "The one-take video came together like every other video with BD Films, with no planning at all. The location was decided last minute, we set up quickly, hit record, and the performance from everyone was on point."

BD's style of one continuous shot of a live performance with no editing was pioneered back in 2008 when he filmed Dub FX's first YouTube video ‘Love Someone’ on the streets of Bristol. That video was one of the first viral videos of its time and spawned a whole generation of YouTube channels and videographers to film performances in the same way, giving the viewer a raw unedited window to the live performance.

Fire Every Day is a heavy, dance floor inspired, reggae-funk track with captivating vocals, smooth harmonies and tasty brass arrangements by the talented Woodnote on Saxophone. Dub FX's lyrics lead us into the disconnect between people in society and self-obsession but also empowers his listeners towards change and growth.

"Self-empowerment is a strong theme throughout all my music. I feel like the only way to improve our society is to change ourselves so that we all make better decisions that impact the world around us. This song is a reflection on that".Dub FX

Adding weight and substance to the release DUB FX has included a 6-page digital comic based on the lyrics of the song and illustrated by Italian Artist Lender Shell. The comic depicts the theme of the song, which satirically explores our addiction to technology within our individualistic society.

Fire Every Day is the lead single from Dub FX’s forthcoming album Roots. Each song on the album has a matching comic that combines to form a complete graphic novel. Written by DUB FX and illustrated by hand-picked artists from all over the world.

Few artists embody the term “one-man show” better than Benjamin Stanford, aka Dub FX: a street performer, recording artist and producer famous for creating intricate and impressive tracks entirely on his own. Using various vocal methods and recording them into devices used for looping and effecting sound, Dub FX can manipulate his voice in incredible ways, creating a layered soundscape in front of the audience.

Over the last thirteen years, Dub FX has released six records, sold over 150,000 albums, headlined major festivals, racked up over 200 million collective YouTube views, and built an imposing social media presence all without ever being played on commercial radio or TV.

Fire Every Day is out now and available with the Digital comic for free on Bandcamp: http://music.dubfx.com. You can also stream and download the single on all major platforms. Roots out on 31 January and is available for pre-order in digital, CD and Vinyl formats. The graphic novel will only be available physically with the CD and Vinyl.
