To celebrate the return of UK's Notting Hill Carnival, Apple Music invites Soca royalty Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons to take part in Apple Music's Home Session series.

In the two exclusive live sessions, recorded in Dolby Atmos for full spatial audio, the Trinidadian artists perform four original unreleased tracks each, plus a cover of one another’s most heated Soca singles. Bunji Garlin performs Fay-Ann Lyons’s single “Dive,” while Fay-Ann Lyons adds a strip-backed spin on Bunji Garlin’s “The Struggle.” The couple recruited acclaimed producers from around the world like Jamaica's Walshy Fire and Tanzania's Cloud Beats to bring the immersive sound experience to life.

Speaking on her session Fay-Ann Lyons said “Firstly being a part of any positive projects that can help inspire and educate is amazing. In addition I got to cover one of the most prolific lyrical minds in the world and it feels amazing. The project was structured to show my versatility and difference. I had a great time writing and recording these tracks and I’m excited for the world to hear them.”

Bunji Garlin aka the “Soca Viking” said of his session “Being a part of projects that go any direction from regular always peaks my interest and puts me into pure challenge mode. It’s a blessing to do music in a way that you feel in full control of artistically and at your own speed. It’s motivating in its fullest impact. Also being able to finally cover one of my favorite artists (Fay-ann Lyons) song Dive was pure magic. She’s a pure force on and off stage so being able to channel that is fire. I’m excited to share this with the world as it’s in the direct vein of how and where I began. This is what we do packaged in its purest form.”

Apple Music's Home Session series started during the first lockdown in early 2020 and previous artists to take part include Blossoms, Bree Runway, Romy, Sigrid, Griff, Mahalia, Craig David, CKay, slowthai, and more.
