Blaudzun celebrates the 10th anniversary of ‘Heavy Flowers’ with a special RSD Black Friday vinyl edition. Critics considered him one of the best-kept secrets in European indie pop. But that didn’t last for too long. 2012 turned out to be a thriving year for the Holland based singer and songwriter Blaudzun when his music started to work it’s magic in Europe and in the States with the release of the highly acclaimed album Heavy Flowers. This third full length album has a special place in the repertoire for Blaudzun as the release caused his definitive break-through.

‘Heavy Flowers’ was released in January 2012 and went straight to the #4 spot of the Dutch album chart and stayed there for 26 weeks. After winning several awards and touring the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, the US was treated to performances at CMJ and SXSW, among other shows.

The album will be released as a special edition on Worldwide Black Friday Record Store Day, November 25th 2022. This version will sport a gold coloured cover and two discs, one gold coloured and one turquoise coloured vinyl. Next to the original album, the package will contain a second disc with never before released live recordings of songs from the album, at the 2012 edition of the Lowlands Festival, in several Dutch live venues, from the national TV show Vrije Geluiden (VPRO) and with Amsterdam Sinfionetta.

Straight after his prestigious stint with Scapino Ballet in Royal Theater Carre Blaudzun continues his club tour that started in last spring after the release of his most recent and very well received LONELY CITY EXIT WOUNDS album. The raving reviews in national media were rewarded with his second #1 album chart entry. The first half of October Blaudzun and his band will be touring throughout The Netherlands and Belgium.

Esteemed Dutch songwriter and musician Blaudzun has made his mark on music over the last decade. Ever since the release of ‘Seadrift Soundmachine’ in 2010, Blaudzun and his 6-piece band have made a big impression with live shows in clubs and festivals all over Europe. The release of ‘Heavy Flowers’ (2012) achieved the gold status in The Netherlands and was followed by two-year period of sold-out club tours in both the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Blaudzun played festivals in Europe and the US, like; Sziget, CMJ, SXSW, Pinkpop, Rock Werchter and Lowlands. The singer received many awards including Dutch Public Broadcasting Award for ‘Best Album of the Year 2012’, Edison Award (Dutch Grammy) for ‘Best Male Artist’ and an award for ‘Best Alternative Act’ at 3FM (Dutch national radio). ‘Heavy Flowers’ was followed by the successful album ‘Promises of No Man’s Land’ (#1 in the Dutch album chart), the ‘Jupiter’ trilogy and the recently with amazing accolades released ‘LONLEY CITY EXIT WOUNDS’ (his second #1 entry).
