Met een in no time uitverkochte festivaldag, was Slipknot zonder twijfel de meeste geanticipeerde band op Graspop. De stortvloed aan lovende reviews achteraf bekrachtigde nog maar eens hun reputatie als ijzersterke liveband. Genoeg om menig metalliefhebber rijkhalzend te doen uitkijken naar hun nieuwe album ‘We Are Not Your Kind’, dat vrijdag eindelijk uit is. De plaat werd geproducet door Slipknot en Greg Fidelman en is het eerste studioalbum sinds hun album ‘.5 : The Gray Chapter’ uit 2014 dat in maar liefst 19 landen de top 5 in de album charts haalde.
Gitarist Jim Root over het album: “This is most time we’ve had to write a record, and work stuff out together. One of my inspirations this time around was those artists that recorded full length albums -not just songs. While the industry is moving toward singles, Slipknot wanted to make an album experience, front to back.”
