Psych-folk band Midlake heeft vandaag hun zesde studioalbum A Bridge To Far uitgebracht. Geschreven en opgenomen in Denton, Texas met producer Sam Evian, verkent de plaat thema’s als hoop, nederigheid en doorzettingsvermogen. Op de LP wordt de cinematografische folkrock-sound van de band vermengd met hernieuwde helderheid en doelgerichtheid.

Het album is hun meeste pure en emotioneel resonante werk tot nu toe, waar ze zelf over vertellen:
“We didn’t overthink things. That ease translated into a sound both atmospheric and grounded - cinematic without excess, deeply felt without sentimentality. Lead single “The Ghouls,” written during a period of uncertainty about the band’s future, became a spark that encouraged us to keep going. It helped us build songs together again and hopefully encourages others to want to hear the full collection.”
