Get The Blessing! zet de jazzwereld op zijn kop. Dat kan ook moeilijk anders als je weet dat bassist Jim Barr (Portishead) en drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead, Radiohead) aan de basis van de band liggen. Samen met saxofonist Jake McMurchie (sessiemuzikant bij Portishead) en trompettist Pete Judge creëren ze een unieke sound, met hier en daar invloeden van Ornette Coleman en Charles Mingus, maar ook van Tortoise en Portico Quartet. Hun debuutalbum ‘All is Yes’ kreeg meteen de BBC Jazz Award voor beste album, en intussen zijn ze toe aan album nummer drie ‘OC:DC’. Ze swingen, betoveren met ingetogen klanken, fascineren met bijzondere loops en combineren vrijheid met discipline.
