Belgische actrices Veerle Baetens en Cécile de France in Wroclaw!
Over vier dagen is het zover en zullen Europese filmmakers, EFA–leden, gasten, genomineerden, en winnaars opnieuw samenkomen om het beste van de Europese cinema te vieren tijdens de 29ste editie van de European Film Awards in Wroclaw, Europese Culturele Hoofdstad van 2016.
Dit jaar zal de ceremonie gehouden worden in de National Forum of Music (NFM) van Wroclaw, ontworpen door Kuryłowicz & Associate. De NFM is een multifunctionele evenementenhal met o.a. een concertzaal met 1800 zetels in parterre, amphitheater, koor en drie balkons.
De European Film Awards zullen uitgereikt worden door de volgende actrices : Veerle Baetens (België), Cécile de France (België), Aistė Diržiūtė (Litouwen), Malin Levanon (Zweden), Pilar Lopez de Ayala (Spanje), Ángela Molina (Spanje), Maja Ostaszewska (Polen), Ludivine Sagnier (Frankrijk) en Kasia Smutniak (Polen) en hun mannelijke collega’s Numan Acar (Duitsland), Carlos Areces (Spanje), Liam Cunningham (Ierland), Marwan Kenzari (Nederland), Daniel Olbrychski (Polen) en Tom Wlaschiha (Duitsland). Ze worden op het podium vergezeld door Wim Wenders, the Voorzitter van de European Film Academy, regisseurs Susanne Bier (Denmarken), Volker Schlöndorff (Duitsland) en Małgorzata Szumowska (Polen) en de legendarische Poolse componist Zbigniew Preisner.
De ceremonie verwelkomt eveneens de Ierse componist Stephen Rennicks, de Spaanse actrice Adriana Ugarte, en acteurs Christian Berkel (Duitsland), Dave Johns (UK) en Trystan Pütter (Duitsland) als ‘patrons’ voor de European Film genomineerden.
Pierce Brosnan zal gelauwerd worden voor de European Achievement in World Cinema award, Jean-Claude Carrière krijgt de Lifetime Achievement Award en Leontine Petit ontvangt de European Co-Production Award 2016 – Prix EURIMAGES. Onder de gasten van de ceremonie bevinden zich eveneens de production designer Benoît Barouh (Frankrijk), sound designer Dean Humphreys (UK), make-up artist Waldemar Pokromski (Polen) en composer Giuliano Taviani (Italië), allen lid van de excellence awards jury.
De 1,200 gasten op de NFM, de 500 extra gasten in de New Horizons Cinema, waar de show gelijktijdig zal vertoond worden, en iedereen die thuis de ceremonie om 20.15 CET op TVN in Polen bekijkt, samen met alle mensen die online op www.europeanfilmawards.eu, of via andere zenders en online platforms de ceremonie zullen volgen, worden allemaal verwelkomd door de Poolse acteur Maciej Stuhr, gastheer van deze 29th European Film Awards.
