Na een indrukwekkende show vol onvergetelijke optredens van wereldsterren als Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, David Guetta, Little Mix en Doja Cat zijn de winnaars van de 2020 MTV EMAs bekend! BTS was de grote winnaar van de avond. De K-popgroep ging naar huis met vier awards: "Best Song", "Best Group", "Best Virtual Live" en "Biggest Fans". Lady Gaga werd uitgeroepen tot "Best Artist" en DJ Khaledging er met de prijs voor "Best Video" vandoor.
YUNGBLUD, die voor het eerst EMA-winnaar was, nam "Best Push" mee naar huis, terwijl de hosts van de avond Little Mix "Best Pop" wonnen. Cardi B ging ervandoor met de award voor "Best Hip-Hop", Coldplay won "Best Rock" en Hayley Williams kreeg de prijs voor "Beste Alternative".
Afgelopen donderdag werd Emma Heesters gekroond tot de winnaar van de MTV EMA Best Dutch Act award. De zangeres, die vorig jaar nog werd uitgeroepen tot de allereerste MTV Push artiest van het jaar werd hiermee de eerste vrouwelijke artiest in tien jaar die de award in ontvangst mocht nemen. Angèle won als eerste Franstalige zangeres ooit de MTV Best Belgian Act award en Yade Lauren werd uitgeroepen tot Nederlandse MTV Push artiest van het jaar.
De "2021 MTV EMAs" zullen plaatsvinden in Hongarije.
