De video van blackwave.'s single 'Whasgood?!' ging zonet in première op het befaamde Billboard!
Over de video vertellen Willem en Jay het volgende:
"For this video we wanted to work with a contrast between the visuals and the music.
'Whasgood?!’ is our ode to all of the genres that inspire us aside from hip hop. Lately we’ve been listening to a lot of Prince, Parliament/Funkadelic and Sly Stone. We love incorporating all kinds of different genres in our music and challenging ourselves to always try something different.
When you hear the song on it’s own, you might expect a straight up dance video and some lip syncing.
While we implemented those elements in the final cut, we wanted to go further than that. We wanted to tell a story through a mind blowing visual aesthetic. Eloi Nsanzabandi and Aaron Beyers were the perfect directors for this idea. The video starts where our previous video (for our song Swangin’) left off. In ‘Whasgood?!’, we wash up on the shores of a new planet and are found and cared for by an alien tribe.
A people, very much in touch with their bodies and nature, who communicate solely through dance and movements and treat us refugees with integrity and a playful curiosity."
