Yaeger releases her long‑awaited debut album Piratebae – a genre‑blending pop project drawing inspiration from early‑2000s internet culture, sisterhood, and the rebellious freedom that defined the digital world she grew up in. The album takes shape in a distinctive universe where early digital aesthetics meet archipelago landscapes and fairytale realms influenced by Astrid Lindgren and Tim Burton, brought together with expansive metaphorical lyrics and a powerful creative energy.
“I’ve kind of felt like Pippi Longstocking on the seven seas while writing and releasing this album. It’s been stormy, I’ve worked with tailwinds and sunny days and sometimes I’ve been so far out that I couldn’t see land. But damn, I feel alive. I’m alive! This album has grown into me somehow, like we’ve become one now. ‘Piratebae’ will probably forever be a part of my inner compass.” – Yaeger.
With Piratebae, Yaeger cements her position as one of Sweden’s most exciting and forward‑thinking pop artists. By blending early‑internet anarchy with pop’s intimacy, Yaeger creates a world that feels both personal and inviting. In a culture increasingly shaped by algorithms, she reminds us that music can still be a space for connection, resistance, and joy.
The album includes previously released tracks such as “Take It! Take It!”, “Cast Away”, the double single “Luminous” and “Trapped”, as well as “Hazy Eyes” and “Poseidon”. Each track functions as its own act within Yaeger’s interconnected musical universe – a landscape filled with nostalgia, imagination, and rebellion, where she has gradually invited listeners into a world that now culminates in Piratebae.

The album’s visual identity draws inspiration from Pippi Longstocking, 2000s surf aesthetics, and early internet oddities. Yaeger’s characteristic looks – from pirate‑inspired silhouettes to maximalist glitter around the eyes – reflect her view of creativity as a form of resistance against polished perfection.
Alongside the album release, Yaeger will play her first headline show at Slaktkyrkan, Stockholm on April 23, followed by a spring and summer tour across EU, including a stop at Way Out West on August 13.
In autumn 2023, Yaeger had her major breakthrough with the EP Jaguar. In 2024, her success continued with 38 shows across Europe and Scandinavia, two Grammis nominations in the categories Composer of the Year and Alternative Pop of the Year, as well as the award for Best Dressed Woman at the ELLE Gala. She released several singles – including “Devil Mode” and “Habits (Stay High)” – and received the Music Publishers’ Prize for Breakthrough of the Year.
