US hard rock/metal torchbearers Who On Earth have returned with a vengeance, unleashing a blistering new single entitled ‘Vigilance’ today that is accompanied by an incendiary promotional video.
"‘Vigilance’ was written to deliver both a warning and a call to unity,” states bassist Pete Rizzi. “As the USA becomes more divided as a country, the elite continue to gain wealth and power at our expense. This is a cry to say that we’ve had enough!”
Delivering sharp riffs and thunderous rhythms with unflinching intensity, ‘Vigilance’ follows the New Jersey based band’s critically praised and socially reflective ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ EP issued in 2025 and delivers a crushing preview of what they have in store for later in 2026. They have also just announced a spring US tour with Fozzy.
Who On Earth began establishing a reputation through relentless gigging around the New York tri-state area, with founding members Coosh (vocals) and Pete Rizzi (bass) having previously torn up stages as MadHaus.
During 2020, the longtime collaborators shifted their focus from covers to original material, writing ten songs and entering Sonic Stomp Studio with producer Mike Orlando (Category 7, Adrenaline Mob). Joined by drummer Joe D’Aqui, the group crafted a heavy, story-driven sound rooted in classic hard rock influences such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Alice in Chains and Tool. Despite delays caused by the pandemic, the sessions yielded ‘Blame’, their widely praised debut album released in late 2022.
Following the addition of guitarists Bruce Gatewood and Johnny James Barone, they gained further traction with a heavy rock reimagining of Toto’s ‘Hold The Line’. A line-up change brought in drummer Howie Fallon in 2024, though tragedy struck later that year with the passing of Gatewood. Jimmy Kocha joined in late 2024 as co-lead guitarist to solidify the current line-up. The group is currently working on a new album for release in mid-2026.
