Quarto Valley Records are happy to announce the new single Slippin’ and Slidin’ by The Immediate Family from their upcoming EP Slippin’ and Slidin’, out October 16. The Immediate Family are Danny Kortchmar (guitar and vocals), Waddy Wachtel (guitar and vocals), Leland Sklar (bass), Russ Kunkel (drums) and Steve Postell (guitar and vocals).
The musicians' past work can be heard on albums from Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards, Neil Young, David Crosby and many more. The Americana legends band released the new single Slippin’ and Slidin’ now available for purchase and streaming as of now and comes along with a music video available here.
The song was co-written by Waddy Wachtel, Danny Kortchmar and Tito Larriva with Wachtel as lead vocals. While working with GRAMMY®-winning producer Greg Ladanyi on a project by The Cruzados, Wachtel, Kortchmar and Larriva got together in the studio and the song was born. “It was quite a joyous musical collaboration, and a hell of a night,” recalls Wachtel. “It's a serious rock and roll song and the record that we, The Immediate Family, made of it delivers like a runaway train. We are so proud that we are the ones who get to show this song to the world.”
The EP Slippin’ and Slidin’ will give fans a deeper look into the music of this Americana powerhouse who collectively helped define the sound of a generation. A new album and documentary are due for release in March 2021.
