Top Dawg Entertainment’s now five-time Grammy award-winning, chart-topping, and multi-platinum selling recording artist SZA, adds four songs to SOS Deluxe: LANA, the expanded edition of her critically acclaimed album SOS. The updated version, which includes “Joni” featuring Don Toliver, “Take You Down,” “Open Arms (just SZA)” and “PSA,” is available now, following SZA’s Super Bowl LIX Apple Music Halftime performance with Kendrick Lamar.
SZA's return to the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the 12th non-consecutive week with SOS Deluxe: LANA coincided with the #1 box office debut of One Of Them Days, her first feature film co-starring Keke Palmer. According to Billboard, “SOS has the most weeks atop the chart for an R&B/hip-hop album by a woman, or an R&B album by a woman, since Whitney Houston’s self-titled set tallied 14 weeks at No. 1 in 1986.” SOS (original + deluxe) has accumulated over 20 billion overall streams (audio + video), been inside the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart for a total of 74 weeks and on the chart for over 2 years since its release on December 9, 2022. SOS has been a chart powerhouse, with five of its songs hitting the top 10 on the Hot 100, including “Kill Bill” claiming the #1 position and "Snooze" staying on the chart for the entirety of 2023. With this film, SZA joins the ranks of artists like Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, Eminem and Prince, who have achieved a #1 album and #1 film in the same year.
