On the first single from "Best of Jethro Tull Redux" that will be released parallel to the forthcoming MER Redux Series installment "Aqualung Redux", American-Swiss rock four-piece SWEAT present their organ-driven and vocal-rich tribute to the JETHRO TULL classic 'Back to the Family'. The song is taken from the British rock legends' sophomore 1969 full-length "Stand Up".
Please find more details about "Best of Jethro Tull Redux" below. Both tribute albums have been scheduled for release on December 6, 2024. SWEAT's rendition of JETHRO TULL's 'Back to the Family' is now available for publication via this link: https://youtu.be/40WxovKQSmE

SWEAT comment: "This song challenged us in ways that ultimately made us access our own sound from a new angle and understand what makes Sweat Sweat", vocalist and organ player Susan Pedrazzi writes. "I had suggested the track 'Back to the Family' because the record 'Stand Up' was in my parents' collection and one of the first British prog rock albums that I familiarized myself with as a teenager. The song has a wide dynamic range and a lot of breathing space to work with."
Kayla Schureman adds: "We almost instantly had the idea to experiment with lots of extra vocal layers", recalls the drummer and vocalist. "To make it sound even more like Sweat, we included the organ which replaced the main flute riff from the original version. We also took some liberties with the vocal melodies and added a more aggressive second verse and an extra B part."
SWEAT made quite a splash when the Pittsburgh-based Swiss-American quartet released their debut album "Who Do They Think They Are?" in 2023. When vocalist and organ player Sue Pedrazzi left her Swiss hometown Basel on a quest for vintage rock, she found like-minded spirits in the Steel City. The quartet has been described as a 'traditional band with fresh and energetic new ideas that set out an attractive stall for fans of British prog rock sensibilities, fragile American folk and heaps of 70s' coolness. Naming Deep Purple, The Moody Blues, The Who, and even Heart as influence, SWEAT are ready to rock the world with their novel sound!
