The Altered Noise, SOCIETY 1 vocalist Matt Zane’s tribute documentary about the life and music of former bassist DV “Dirt” Karloff, has been selected for the 5th annual American Horrors Film Festival.

"I'm incredibly grateful that the American Horror Film Festival has chosen to show The Altered Noise, says director Matt Zane. "The film is going to get its big-screen premiere in an actual theater, which is just amazing. Crazy to think Dirt is becoming an indie movie star. He would have loved it!"

The film festival, hosted by infamous horror icon Hart D. Fisher, takes place Oct. 30-Nov.1 at Emagine Geneva Lakes in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and will showcase critically-acclaimed, bleeding-edge, independent horror films and music documentaries, uncut, the way they were intended.

The Altered Noise is Zane’s tribute to his fallen friend and former bassist DV “Dirt” Karloff, a larger-than-life presence in the metal world and lauded by the likes of Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction), Paul Raven (Killing Joke, Ministry, ex-Prong) and Raymond Herrera (Fear Factory, ex-Brujeria). The film documents his rise from a wide-eyed Midwesterner to being thrown immediately into the spotlight by joining Society 1 just in time for their world record-breaking 2003 Download Festival performance.

With over seven million viewers, American Horrors is the fastest-growing linear streaming channel available. Founded by Hart D. Fisher, the OTT channel features the bloodiest and goriest cult films, original series like Mission Terror Gorecast and Groovey TV, along with uncensored music videos from Danzig, Obituary, Slayer, Warbeast, and more.

The American Horrors Film Festival will be broadcast exclusively on Roku, Strictly Streaming and AmericanHorrors.com a few days after the event.
