Today, shower curtain unveils “tell u - Crate Remix,” their new single from the forthcoming deluxe release of their debut album, words from a wishing well, out May 23rd via Fire Talk Records’ emerging artists imprint, Angel Tapes. shower curtain is the NYC-via-Brazil project of Victoria Winter, and words from a wishing well (Deluxe Edition) mines shower curtain’s community of rising independent artists to reimagine a handful of tracks. “tell u - Crate Remix” taps shower curtain member Cody Hudgins’ fellow NYC shoegaze buzzband Crate. “tell u - Crate Remix” doubles the original track’s runtime, and is a glimmering rework that transforms the standout lo-fi interlude into a dreampop wonderland.
“tell u - Crate Remix” follows previously-shared contributions from Retail Drugs and Computerwife, with additional remixes from LAILA and fantasy of a broken heart still to come. Of “tell u - Crate Remix,” Winter adds: “I was so happy to have Cody work on this remix, it transformed into a whole new track giving a once lo-fi track we did on the computer to a whole new drum n bass track and still preserved some of the original melodies.”
Hudgens says: “‘tell u’ is one of my favorite songs on the album so when I got asked to do a remix I knew immediately which one it was gonna be. Chopping up audio is one of my favorite parts about producing music so remixes feel really natural to my music making flow. Plus… when you are already working with amazing sounds it just makes the process that much more satisfying. I love when the original ideas and melodies still exist in a remix but have a completely different energy, a dream cranked up to 11 kinda feel in this case ya know.”
Later this month, shower curtain will celebrate the release of words from a wishing well (Deluxe Edition) with a headlining show at Nightclub 101 on Saturday, May 24th. Alongside shower curtain, the release show will feature a performance from LA-based labelmates Jawdropped, plus Bedridden and DJ sets from fantasy of a broken heart and Computerwife.

The album got the band anointed as a Best New Artist by Stereogum, Best of What’s Next by Paste Magazine, and a Rising Artist To Watch in 2025 by Alternative Press, and recently sold out its initial vinyl pressing. A new Benadryl Pink Variant will begin shipping in June, and is available for pre-order here. Self-produced by Winter and Williams, words from a wishing well sketches early adulthood experiences in swirling layers of guitars. Winter wrote its tracks across her first few years of living in New York, and the result is a completely dialed-in record of experiences between Brazil and NYC.
