Ukrainian alt-metal act SEPTA return with their first new music since 2019: the double single On (Not) Losing Hope, out now via Venona Records.

Recorded during the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and produced, mixed and mastered by Connor Sweeney (ex-Loathe), the two-track release captures the band at their most raw and introspective. “If I Look Back I Am Lost” and “Let It Rip” represent two sides of the same coin—paralysis and release, despair and the stubborn refusal to surrender to it.

“This represents our collective state of mind—being trapped between places, hoping for things that will never come, reminiscing about our loss,” says vocalist Eugene Tymchyk. “Not a huge comeback, but something more reflective of the world, the times, the country, the band.”

SEPTA’s music previously appeared on the official in-game radio for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and the band has shared stages with Stone Sour, among others. On (Not) Losing Hope marks the first glimpse of a band rediscovering its voice in the middle of history.
