Cold rock, frenetic groove, dark aesthetics: DUST LOVERS pursue their unique trajectory between post-punk, new wave and cinema. Their new album ‘Green Screens’ scratches where it irritates and prefers shadows to flattering filters. New music video "Yes Life" sets the tone: a track with a deceptively optimistic title, carried by elegant tension and perfectly confident cynicism.
Moving away from more traditional rock, DUST LOVERS' new album ‘Green Screens’ reflects the anxieties of an era through a mechanical, synthetic soundscape inspired by new wave and post-punk à la DEVO, Suicide, Tuxedo Moon, Tone on Tails... Clément Collot (vocals, guitar, synths) comments: "The billionaires and corporations have won; it has become impossible to resist, to say no. So let's embrace the YES philosophy, the YES LIFE. A cynical ode to the gluttony of capitalism, diluted in the fun of entertainment. The track will be released alongside a video that mixes corporate aesthetics, finance and sectarianism, all with humour." Yes Life" was directed by Emmanuel Mazy.
After leaving behind part of their name (The Texas Chainsaw…) and the stoner sound of their early days, five-piece band DUST LOVERS from Nantes, France, have crafted a groovy rock’n’roll sound, somewhere between surf rock and spaghetti western, adding more mechanical, synthetic elements inspired by new wave and post-punk. Frontman Clément Collot's trademark vocals invite listeners to discover a cinematic, provocative, dark personality, where irony rubs shoulders with boldness.
Since 2012 and the release of their debut EP ‘Born Bad’, DUST LOVERS have been progressing independently. Their first album ‘Me and The Devil’ was released in 2016. Like ‘Film Noir’ (2017) and ‘Fangs’ (2020), it showcases a Far West-inspired vibe, with the usual offbeat atmosphere and increasingly prominent synths.
Where DUST LOVERS really shine is on stage. With their powerful riffs, cheeky keyboards, charismatic vocals and monstrous rhythm section, no one is left indifferent by their live performances. The band has played Hellfest twice and has also performed alongside heavyweights such as King Dude, Nashville Pussy, Grandma's Ashes, The Picturebooks, Mars Red Sky and many others. DUST LOVERS are at home on stage, immersing their audience in their darkly tinged universe.
Their upcoming album ‘Green Screens’ will be released on April 24th 2026 on French record label Le Cèpe.
