22-year-old French rapper Rilès, is the first French artist signed to US label Republic Records (home to an all-star roster of multi-platinum, award-winning artists such as Ariana Grande, Drake, Amy Winehouse, Florence + The Machine, Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber,..). And his recent and upcoming releases are the first joint venture between 3 of the biggest international labels(Republic/Polydor UK/Capitol FR) in many years.
Out of a tiny makeshift bedroom studio, Rilès became the talk of Europe and Africa.
Between graduating from a French scientific high school and studying English literature at the University of Rouen, he beganpainting, producing, writing, recording, mixing, mastering, and engineering every single one of his tracks since 2014 in this tiny space. Additionally, he directed and video edited all his music videos. He gained notoriety in his home country France, when he composed, mixed and mastered 1 song per week for a year - from September 2016 through September 2017 - with no songs already pre-made. The'Rilèsundayz' challenge garnered huge exposure for him and he independently racked up over 250 million views on his YouTube channel (which, as of this writing, sits pretty with 1.2 million subscribers).
He went on to sell out his first tour in 2017 with more than 30 shows throughout Europe and North Africa, at venues with 10,000 + capacities. Rilès has over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The stunning videoclip for new song 'Against The Clock' gained over 490K YouTube views since its release last Sunday and was top 10 trending in France.
