I wanted to take a quick moment to bring the forthcoming album from Psychlona back to the forefront of your mind. Yes, this is a season that's seeing new stuff from Uncle Acid, Windhand, Greenleaf, et al, but if we didn't dedicate at least a bit of time to letting our ears discover energetic new bands as well, what kind of music fans would we be?
"Mojo Rising" is the debut album from Psychlona, and it's a fuzzed-out trip that grooves its way through Boogie Van-era Fu Manchu and early Orange Goblin, lightly sparkled with a few fistfuls of Wino-ness and all coasting on a warm Sky Valley undercurrent.
