Primal Warfare formed in 2020 with a clear idea of what they wanted to do: play thrash metal with impact, precision, and feeling. Taking cues from both classic and modern thrash, the band have built a sound that is heavy and sharp, but never one-dimensional, with room for melody and a strong emotional pull.
That balance runs through After the Flames, the band’s debut EP. The record brings together weighty riffs, memorable melodic lines, and lyrics shaped by resilience, conflict, and the struggle to move forward. More than a first release, it feels like a defining statement of where Primal Warfare stand at this stage: intense, focused, and fully committed to their own identity.
The EP was recorded with guitarist Gabriel Antunes and marks an important point in the band’s path so far. Primal Warfare have already taken that energy to the stage at venues such as R.C.A. Club in Lisbon and Hollywood Spot in Almada, where their live shows have shown the same drive and conviction heard on the record.
