After releasing one of the most anticipated debut records of this year, receiving rave reviews (“one of the most beautiful indie-pop records of this moment” Madam Figaro [FR], “debut full of small miracles” Knack/Focus [BE], “a world class record” De Volkskrant [NL]) Pitou is releasing her first live-record; the Big Tour Live EP.

It is nearly impossible to grasp the full musical identity of Pitou, without having heard her live. It is where her songs truly transform, and come alive. “It is as if she’s discovered her own personal superpower, the freedom with which she takes on the stage” says Dutch national music platform 3voor12. “Each song was a gift” says national Belgian newspaper The Standaard, and “each breath of the saxophone player feels like resuscitation, each tap of the drummer like your own heartbeat. And in between them is Pitou; who is not just singing; she’s breathing the music - embodying each song” wrote Humo (BE).

This EP consists of 7 songs, taken from her European club tour earlier this year, her festival show at Best Kept Secret, and her acoustic set in Union Chapel, London.

Through these seven songs the listener experiences the full dynamic range of Pitou’s live performance. Intimate, subtle, delicate, as in her performance of Helium in Union Chapel. And large, raw, in your face, such as the performance she and her band give with Dancer.

This EP broadcasts how the songs of Big Tear come to live on stage, but also the transformation some of her older work has gone through. Cut a Hole, an intimate guitar & voice-based song, taken from her first EP, now is a full-band anthem, filled with new energy. A celebration of her new-found freedom on stage.
