On The Loose, an epic doom metal band based in the Algarve region of Portugal, just released their new album "Path to Serenity" on 2 November 2025 in digital and CD. The album is self-released and presents a revised line-up that reflects the current direction of the group.

The band was established in 2020 by guitarist Marco Marouco, who has performed with Els Focs Negres and Omission, and drummer JP Ventura, also recognised from his work with Dawnrider and The Limit. Their debut album, "On The Loose", appeared in 2022, followed by "Dark Emotions" in 2023. Each release saw a different vocalist: Flávio Lino on the first and Pedro Fialho Jesus on the second.

For "Path to Serenity," two new musicians have joined. Rick Thor, known from bands like Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, Ravensire, and Ironsword, takes on vocals, while Toni Cagaita, whose background is in Portuguese punk, joins on bass. The album was recorded at Paulo Vieira Studio, a location associated with groups such as The Limit and Ironsword

In advance of the album, the band has made available three singles. The most recent is their interpretation of "1977 Simple Man Cover", which provides an additional perspective on the band's range.

"Path to Serenity" continues the band's approach within the epic doom metal genre, now further defined by changes in the line-up.
