Precise rhythms and yet great musical freedom characterizes the new album No from acid jazzers Brennenstuhl., out September 23, 2022 on Tonzonen.

Thus unexpected but always catchy structures can be found. Bass and drums as a driving Krautrock machine, paired with psychedelic guitar playing from jazz and blues form the flying carpet for saxophonist and singer Eva, whose voice is reminiscent of a mixture of Erykah Badu and Tess Parks.

The band self-describes their sound as acid krautrock jazz that is loud and weird, but also thoughtful, quiet and straightforward, yet always touching and danceable! Since the release of their self-titled debut album (HeadApe-Records) in 2017, the band has conquered the hearts of many at live festivals

New album No is the consistent further development of the diverse sound of the four band members. The roots are clearly in jazz rock, but elements from the singer/ songwriter domain take a significant part of the music on No. With a wink of the eye, popular music is entertainingly processed, and it gets surprising when the band is inspired by free jazz structures, thus taking Brennenstuhl's sound cosmos in a completely new direction.
