Indie/Americana artist Mountain Climer have released their new single “Not Friends Anymore,” out on all music platforms TODAY. “Not Friends Anymore” is a sleek intro to Mountain Climer’s upcoming album “Before You Turn Out the Lights”, which will drop later in 2025. Initially inspired by long-term influences of punk rock, Mountain Climer recently honed in on a sonic landscape rooted in Americana, allowing his songwriting to be under the spotlight. “Not Friends Anymore” is fitting for fans of some of his earliest musical motivators - Tom Petty, Oasis, and Stereophonics - and highlights an organic approach to studio recording. About the single, he says:

“This song is a true story. Born out of an unnecessarily dramatic encounter with one of my oldest friends at his house in Nashville just a day after putting my grandfather in the ground ("Ray"). It was a minor philosophical agreement. We'd said way worse to each other throughout the thirty years we'd been friends, but this time, he blocked my phone, my social medias and didn't speak to me for two-and-a-half years. We're not in control of other people, only our own emotions and all I could do is make peace with myself about the situation”.

Mountain Climer is the solo project of Jeremy Climer, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose eclectic musical journey spans decades and across the continent. From his early years in Columbus, Indiana, to stops in Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Chicago, Louisville, and a return to Los Angeles before settling in Colorado, Jeremy’s life and music have been shaped by a blend of small-town roots and a broad, American perspective.
