Molly Annelle today releases her debut album ELEVATOR MUSIC via 604 Records. At just 17 years old, ELEVATOR MUSIC sees the celebrated Vancouver singer/songwriter combine the essence of dream pop and R&B as she continues to take the musical world by storm. ELEVATOR MUSIC is produced by renowned producer and artist Louise Burns.

Molly has released three singles to date from ELEVATOR MUSIC, the most recent, “SUNDAY”, is a quarantine anthem in which Molly explores her fear of the mundane and how this current global situation affects her as an extroverted Gemini. “SUNDAY” has already made several Apple Music playlists including New Music Daily, New in R&B, Untitled, Wildflower, New In Indie and Spotify’s New Music Friday, and The Wave: Fresh Finds and amassed over 100K views on YouTube in a week. Her first single “ALL IN speaks to Molly’s very first heartbreak while the follow up, “NEVER BETTER feat. young friend)”, takes a look at the kind of empowerment that can only come from facing things head-on.

No matter the narrative, Molly maintains she hopes listeners can relate to her music in their own way and make it their own — regardless of her inspiration. “At the end of the day, no matter who writes the songs, that music doesn't really belong to anyone — and everyone has their own world they create for themselves,” she says. “I think it's important for listeners to create their own interpretation and delve into their own memories. I would never want to limit any associations that people want to have. That’s what’s so great about music, it speaks to us all.”

Molly’s journey is one that began at the tender age of five, when the Vancouver-based songstress penned her very first song. Four years later, at just nine-years-old, she was named Young Composer of the Year, writing four-part harmonies for the Vancouver Chamber Choir. Encouraged by family and teachers alike, the young musician found her voice in the kind of honest lyricism and devoted storytelling which has continued to set her apart.

In 2018, Molly unveiled her EP Pick Me Ups, which she also produced in her home studio. Taking on a behind-the-scenes role was important to the young artist, who can’t help but relish the chance to have a hand in every part of her personal musical journey. “It’s everything to me to be part of the entire project, I feel so much more fulfilled when I've done everything I can do,” she says. “Collaborating and really creating something amazing is such a fun and satisfying process.” It was the kind of drive and ambition that happened to catch the attention of 604 Records’ Jonathan Simkin, resulting in Molly’s label debut, Winter Waves, a Christmas anthem which garnered close to 150,000 streams on Spotify alone.

ELEVATOR MUSIC is out now on 604 Records.
