With clubland’s summer season kicking off around the world, DJs everywhere are searching for the ultimate dance floor weapon to destroy mainstages and decimate venue speaker systems. Denmark’s Martin Jensen has duly delivered, dishing up a mammoth crowd pleaser in the shape of ‘Pull Up’, out for worldwide release now via Disco:Wax and Universal Music.

Undoubtedly influenced by his exposure to different cultures and new sounds as he’s crisscrossed the planet DJing at some of the world’s biggest venues and festivals, ‘Pull Up’ is a huge departure from Jensen’s previous production. Designed with the dance floor solely in mind, don’t expect the Dane’s trademark melodies or light, catchy vocal lines that refuse to budge from your brain; ‘Pull Up’ is an absolutely unapologetic monster of a track, primed by the Dane to go to war with your bass bins. Booming, rhythmic brass sections size up against rolling cowbells; clapping percussive lines thunder under rumbling, repetitive vocal cries; Jensen constantly adding layers to the production, giving the cut a growing sense of both momentum and depth. Heavyweight in every respect, with ‘Pull Up’ Jensen continues to demonstrate his natural, almost uncanny understanding of the dance floor.

I’m excited to release (‘Pull Up’) because it really reflects the kind of music I spin while DJing,Jensen said. “I was aiming to capture that ‘festival anthem’ feel and for me, ‘Pull Up’ really does summon that up.”

To describe Martin Jensen’s success story as simply “stratospheric” would be doing him an injustice. Three years ago the young Dane was selling farmyard equipment full time, with ambitions of becoming a lighting engineer and designer. Sheer prowess in the DJ booth and productions like the Cristiano Ronaldo-sampling ‘’, ‘All I Wanna Do’, ‘Wait’ and global monster ‘Solo Dance’ took him on a different path, one that has spawned a packed international tour diary and for ‘Solo Dance’ alone, a staggering 500+ million streams, 35+ million YouTube views and 24 gold and platinum discs across continents. The magnitude of these accomplishments are not lost on the 26-year-old:

I am so grateful every single day. Going from small venues in Jutland to playing on mainstages all over the world is a dream come true. I’m just enjoying every single minute of it and soaking up the whole experience. It’s all down to the great support from my fans.”
