“Man (and woman) has strived for the ability to fly , from first acquiring altitude, to crossing continents, then oceans and then circling the globe, to heading out into Space, to trying to communicate with whatever may be out there. But what if there’s a communication breakdown?” - Marathon

Mark Kelly, keyboarder of progressive rock flagship Marillion, had something in his pipeline for over 30 years – the result: a brand-new prog-rock project called “Mark Kelly’s Marathon” which will be released on November 27th . Together with Guy Vickers, Oliver M. Smith (vocalist), Pete “Woody” Wood (guitar,) John Cordy (guitar), Henry Rogers (drums) and his nephew Conal Kelly (bass), Mark Kelly turned his vision into reality. Marillion bandmate Steve Rothery also joined the band and contributed the lead guitar to the song “Puppets”.

During the Marillion Couch Convention last weekend, Mark Kelly first introduced his loyal fans to this new project after releasing the first single “Amelia” on Friday. You can listen to “Amelia” here: https://Marathon.lnk.to/Amelia

The Couch Convention also marked the date of the premiere of the official video to the song which has been filmed at the Real World Studios, studio of no other than Peter Gabriel himself. “Mark Kelly’s Marathon” will be available as a Limited and Numbered CD+DVD Digipak (incl. the Marathon “Real World Session”), LP Gatefold, CD Digipak and Digital on November 27th , 2020 on earMUSIC.
