Manchester-based electronic/pop duo samxemma today release their latest single 'Me forever :(' via September Recordings (Obongjayar, For Those I Love).
A serotonin rush for the chronically self-aware, new single 'Me forever :(' follows last month's 'YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU' single and the band's boundary-crashing August EP 'HOT PEOPLE MAKE HOT MUSIC' - which coincided with samxemma being named BBC Radio 1's Introducing Artist of the Week.
Formed between Northampton (Sam) and San Diego (Emma), and now rooted in Manchester (UK), 'Me forever :(' is another dizzying, maximalist electro-pop assault from the transatlantic pair.
Over clubby synths and spiralling percussion, Emma dissects digital melancholia with wit and bite – too tired to go out "You can pry me off the couch / But I’ll still sleep all week", and too online to log off "You can take the girl offline / But she’ll still think in tweets". The result is a deft, euphoric treatise on modern social paralysis.
On the release of their new single, Emma said:
"'Me forever :(' is the realisation that even if I wanted to drop everything in my life and “runaway”, I’d still be me everywhere I go. I’m me forever and nothing will ever change that, which is usually quite a scary thought for me."
samxemma's 'HOT PEOPLE MAKE HOT MUSIC' EP - released in August earlier this year via September Recordings - captured two musicians reshaping DIY pop into something explosive and unruly.
Powered by Emma’s unfiltered lyrics and Sam’s genre-agnostic, club-ready production (drawing from Skrillex, Porter Robinson, Pluko, and a whole lot of late-night YouTube black holes), samxemma's vision feels fully formed: not just collaborators, but co-conspirators in a world of their own.
samxemma (pronounced sam-times-emma) released their debut EP 'Athens' in 2023. In the time since then, they sold out headlines in Manchester and London, were selected as a ReBalance artist by Festival Republic, have performed at The Great Escape, Latitude Festival, Live at Leeds In The City, Beyond The Music and Kendal Calling, received early press support from Dork (HYPE Cover), Wonderland, Notion, The Line of Best Fit, Popjustice, alongside being named BBC Radio 1's Introducing Artist of the Week and one of Spotify's First Listen RADAR artists.
With momentum building and their sound crystallising into something unmistakable, samxemma are quietly - or rather, loudly - positioning themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting new pop acts heading into 2026.
samxemma's new single 'Me forever :(' is out now, released 2nd December on September Recordings.
