Feminist feral theatre-punks TWAT UNION are delighted to announce their return today with new single ‘Tiny Shorts’ set for release on 12th November 2025 via Alcopop! Records. Produced by Jonny Firth and Kate Mac, the single was mixed by Jonny Firth, and mastered by Izzy McPhee at Weird Jungle.
Commenting on the single, the band say: “‘Tiny Shorts’ is our middle finger to all the cat calling and demeaning behaviour we receive if we choose to wear something that makes US feel good.”
“Women should be able to wear whatever the hell they want, let it all hang out, and not be mistreated or disrespected. The song is also a pushback against the assumptions that are made about people based on the clothes they choose to wear. If you want to wear tiny shorts that make your bum look amazing while you have thoughts as big as your shorts are small—you can. It’s not a choice you have to make.”

Part punk gig, part comedy show, Twat Union’s gigs are fast becoming the stuff of legend—a chaotic punk experience unlike any other. There will be props, there will be line dancing, there will be shouting, there may even be a raffle (if you’re lucky)...
Already touted as The Guardian’s One To Watch after only one single (2023’s ode to the burning sensation, ‘UTI’), the self-proclaimed “angry girls” of Twat Union are all about creating spaces which are equal parts joyful, irate, empowering, and silly, allowing people to laugh and scream at the same time. Their gigs are being prescribed to treat broken hearts, and they want to spread the Twat Treatment far and wide, priding themselves on having a fan base that spans generations, with devotees aged 4 to 97.
The band released their critically-lauded debut EP Don't Look It In The Eye earlier this spring, followed by their first ever UK tour dates and festival appearances at Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shambala, Bearded Theory, LOUD WOMEN Fest, Rebellion Festival and more across the year.
The EP’s lead single ‘Singer of The Band’ was released to a rush of underground tastemaker support from Louder Than War, LOUD WOMEN, Get In Her Ears, Radio X, Amazing Radio, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Ulster and many more.
The theatrical feminist punk 6 piece are known for their wild, immersive shows and trademark provocative humour. Despite their on-stage antics, The Twats—as they’re affectionately known—don’t shy away from the important topics including, but not limited to: thigh chafe, urinary tract infections, and people assuming you don’t know how to tune a guitar because you’re a woman (FFS).
They sold out The Brixton Windmill, The Jago, and played Shambala and Loud Women’s 8th Birthday Party all before releasing any music, dropping their debut single ‘UTI’ in 2023 complete with a feral toilet-themed music video. They’ve previously played at Margate Pride and sold out The Vagina Museum, and sold out headline shows at iconic venues Old Blue Last and The Lexington in London.
