Metalcore band LIGATURE MARKS is giving a fresh look at their latest single "Pray and Suffocate" with their new drum playthrough for the track. Watch the playthrough for "Pray and Suffocate" HERE.

“I felt it was my job to glue 'Pray & Suffocate' together seamlessly. Give it a groove you can move to while keeping it tasteful and musical. It’s not always about playing fast. It’s about creating a piece of music.” says Chris Meskill.

"Pray and Suffocate" is a sonic journey that dives deep into the dark recesses of faith and deception. Vocalist Benjamin Charles delivers a chilling message about the dangers of blind allegiance and the false promises of self-proclaimed saviors. "May this song provide a soundtrack to your apocalypse," Charles states. "Now more than ever, it’s important to be suspicious of the false pledges of sacrifice and nobility. Charlatans and thieves make empty promises to build legions of blind allegiance. This song takes a long look at that kind of predatory saviorism. Sometimes that unwavering faith can be the veil that keeps us in the dark, and sometimes you have to be willing to burn it down then walk away. It’s time to press the fucking 'play' button."

LIGATURE MARKS continues to push boundaries in the metalcore genre with their innovative sound and uncompromising artistic vision. "Pray and Suffocate" is a testament to their commitment to exploring complex themes and delivering music that resonates with their audience on a profound level.

About Ligature Marks:

Ligature Marks is an American metal band from Portland, Oregon formed in 2017. Ligature Marks’ lineup is made up of some of the Pacific Northwest’s most hailed underground and established musicians. Their unsigned debut album, Set Oceans On Fire, earned them incredible popularity in the Pacific Northwest; with them being specifically chosen to perform with bands such as: Gojira, Soulfly, Unearth and Skinlab.

At first glance the band's musical style could likely fall under the blanket statement of Metalcore. Dig a little deeper and you’ll uncover depths of influences ranging from progressive metal to hardcore, and from punk to straight forward heavy metal. The pallet of guitar styles the Whinnery brothers have in their arsenal lay down brutal and melodic textures, equally haunting and beautiful as it is ruthless and destructive. Backed by the unforgivingly savage rhythm section, the perfect amount of pocket and chaos, groove is everything. The vocals are raw and intelligent. Memorable lyrics delivered aggressively and without apology, equally tormented as they are hopeful.
