Birmingham musician, songwriter and emergent pop star Lawrence Taylor has been announced as support to Hunter & The Bear this May on their UK tour. The run of dates includes sold out shows in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester and Edinburgh and concludes with two consecutive nights at London’s Black Heart on May 28th and 29th.

The announcement comes just after Lawrence’s return to the music scene, three years after first achieving critical and popular acclaim, with the release of his new single ‘Poor Boy’ via Glassnote Records. Watch him perform the track in a faultless live session

Lawrence’s charismatic live shows have previously seen him touring across the UK and US supporting artists such as Birdy, Allen Stone and Zella Day, selling out headline shows in London and performing at SXSW. “I can't wait to get back on my feet and do what I love most”, he reveals about the Hunter & The Bear tour.

Lawrence Taylor released his breakout debut EP Bang Bang in 2016, which at its height clocked up around a quarter of a million streams a day, with his sultry voice and style securing an explosion of fans and tastemaker approval.

The title-track was made Q Magazine’s Track of the Day, earned spots on numerous Spotify playlists and engaged listeners from the UK, Europe and North America. The following track ‘Chains’ secured his first Radio 1 play with Annie Mac and was tailed by the EP’s closing number ‘Robyn’ which was premiered globally by Zane Lowe on Beats1 Radio and saw him featured as BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Act of the Week.

Further support came from the likes of Clash, Wonderland, Pandora and Radio X, and with his keen sense of style and undeniable good looks, high-end fashion brands came knocking including a partnership with Tom Ford.

Lawrence has spent the last two years working on fresh ideas and the result is bold and beautiful new music that showcases him at his rawest. ‘Poor Boy’ is the first taste of what’s to come with an EP set for release this summer and more shows to be announced.
