Decalcomania is the 20th album by the Italian experimental cult band Larsen and was born out of a series of musical sketches then produced in their final form by William Basinski who also played saxophone on some of the tracks. The resulting 5 pieces showcasing lounge, ambient, dub, electro as well as “classic “Larsen vibes and lyrics written by Little Annie surprised the band themselves.
The album was recorded by regular band collaborator Paul Beauchamp in Torino, mixed by Gary Thomas Wright in Los Angeles and mastered by James Plotkin in NYC.
Decalcomania is also the 1st album by Larsen on Erototox Decodings following releases on Important Records and Michael Gira’s Young God Records and the final one of the former line-up with historical member Roberto Maria Clemente.
Since 1995 Larsen, from Torino Italy, has released 19 full length albums and 4 eps, which got remarkable worldwide press, and performed all over Europe, UK and North America.
