Childhood friends Niiko x SWAE may have only been around as a musical force since 2017, but the way they’ve been frequenting industry shortlists shows exactly what their intentions are. After seeing their recent single ‘Friends’ become the #1 Most Added Dance Song of the Week on Sirius BPM as well as a Top 50 track in the Mediabase Dance Airplay chart, the L.A. duo are now shaking hands with Armada Music to unleash ‘I Ain’t Going Home’, their debut release on the imprint and the first of a four-track EP due later this year.

Listen to Niiko x SWAE feat. April Bender – I Ain’t Going Home

An upbeat crossover collab between Niiko x SWAE and April Bender, ‘I Ain’t Going Home’ is the kind of song at least half of the world’s population can relate to. With a sturdy, club-tailored instrumental, empowering lyrics and rousing vocals that deliver their message in no uncertain terms, this record is straight fire on and beyond dance floors.

“‘I Ain’t Going Home’ tells the story of a strong and independent person who doesn’t need any more games in his/her life”, Niiko x SWAE explain. “This is a song about realization: realizing that you are so much better than the person who has been pursuing you or trying to mess with your heart. Every first love or relationship comes with drama, and this song is about overcoming the bullshit to the point where you can make your own decisions.”

“We had been wanting to work with April since we heard her song ‘Sunrise’ with ARTY. At the very end of 2019, before quarantine, we reached out to some of our favorite singer-songwriters and were overwhelmed when April sent us the topline for ‘I Ain’t Going Home’. Both the vocal performance and the songwriting were so strong that producing the rest of the track was a walk in the park. When we finished up the production, we knew we had an anthem on our hands. We’ve had a ton of fun ending our livestreams and pre-COVID sets with this feel-good banger!”

Their upcoming debut EP, which will be titled ‘Field Trip’, touches on the chronicles of Niiko x SWAE around the time they first met. A playful, yet nostalgia-inducing homage to the care-free adventures of their elementary years, the EP carries distinct childhood memories through each of the four tracks, highlighting the duo’s 20-year-strong friendship and their authentic personalities as high-on-life creators taking the scene by storm.
