The two Danish heavy trios Kollapse and GRAVA recently announced their joint album ‘KOLLAPSE & GRAVA’ set for a digital release on June 6, 2025. In the same breath, the bands shared the double single ‘Hæmatomets Filosofi’ - a reflection of the project's core concept, where each band wrote a new track, which was then interpreted musically and lyrically by the other, thus creating a new unique composition.
Today, the two bands share a thirteen-minute music video, consisting of Kollapse’s post-metallic, labyrinthine 9-minute composition ‘Hæmatomets Filosofi’ and GRAVA’s interpretation ‘Hæmatomets filosofi (Blóðtøka)’, which showcases the band’s direct, doom-sludged style over four relentless minutes. The video offers an intimate look into the album recording sessions with producers Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Morbid Angel, Mew) and Peter Peter (Bleeder, Sort Sol) , which took place over three intense days at the legendary Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen.
Kollapse and GRAVA premiere the album live on Saturday July 5th at 8.30 PM at the legendary Roskilde Festival in Denmark, where the visual and auditory possibilities of the Gloria stage will form the perfect setting for a complete sensory bombardment. Kollapse & GRAVA on stage at the same time becomes a dream of a nightmare that will be felt deep in the stomach and even deeper in the heart.

KOLLAPSE & GRAVA - Hæmatomets Filosofi **OFFICIAL VIDEO** (including lyrics)
In the borderland between hardcore and sludge metal, Aalborg-based Kollapse and Copenhagen-based GRAVA have developed the album ‘KOLLAPSE & GRAVA’, a monolith of darkness that radiates bright black light, and the result of a very special collaboration between two of the most unique bands in the Danish music underground.
Both bands are trios playing uncompromisingly hard, but there are also many differences to be detected. GRAVA originates from heavy doom sludge, while Kollapse conveys an extreme output that is best described as hardcore based on New Yorker noise-rock. Kollapse has made its mark at home and abroad with a merciless album series, which culminated in early 2024 with the band's third and award-winning LP ‘AR’, while GRAVA with two unusually strong full-lengths within less than two years has also established itself on the Danish and international scene, most recently with ‘The Great White Nothing’ from September 2024.
Over a number of years, the two bands have met on tour, played shows together and naturally built a friendship in which the idea of a joint project arose. Originally, the plan was "just" to record and release a classic split 7" single, but the idea soon morphed into an artistic process, where the two bands barricaded themselves in their respective rehearsals over the autumn and winter of 2024 to each dish up a completely new composition that could make the other band peel their eyes and ears wide open.
Full of trust and with the vision of pushing boundaries, the two bands continuously initiated each other into their own new music and the lyrical universe around it. The main idea was that the two bands would also interpret and record each other's new song. Never before have Kollapse or GRAVA been so open about their art and blindly handed over their newborn child, as any new composition is, to another band, to experience it treated without any limitations at all. The result is the two tracks ‘Hæmatomets filosofi’ and ‘Red Furnace’ which thematically tie a blood-red bow of arteries around body, flesh and captivity.
On the other side of the songwriting, the producer duo Flemming Rasmussen Metallica, Morbid Angel etc.) and Peter Peter were ready at Sweet Silence Studios to encapsulate the magic in the four very different compositions over three days, as well as a small handful of instrumental and ambient pieces of music that help create a sonic skeleton to the album's meat and muscle.
‘KOLLAPSE & GRAVA’ will be released digitally on Friday June 6th, one month prior to the world premiere live at Roskilde Festival, while the LP will be released on the day of the concert in a limited edition.
