King Zog, a metal band forged in 2014 in Perth, Western Australia, is set to release their new album, "Second Dawn," on July 31, 2024. This album follows their tradition of delivering heavy metal with a unique twist. The title track, "Second Dawn," tells the story of a fictional UFO desert death cult in the 1970s, led by a charismatic and psychotic woman named Aruna. Aruna convinces her followers, who are ravaged by hunger and drugs, that they will escape Earth's impending nuclear holocaust by boarding a spaceship to a utopian planet. The song's protagonist, a disillusioned office worker, is drawn into Aruna's web.

For their second LP, King Zog has expanded their sonic palette, incorporating gongs, mellotron, and vintage synth to create a rich and diverse soundscape. The album was recorded at Pink House Studios in Perth, produced by Derek Mattin (known for his work with Hail the Void, Imminent Ruin, Night Mother, and Krypteia), and mixed and mastered by Mattin. To celebrate the release, 100 copies of the LP will be pressed, including 25 deluxe versions featuring an A1 quality poster, patch, and sticker.
