The title of Kim's latest single, 'Rama VI', taken from his latest album ‘Cousis’is a reference to a revered Siam King and a street in Bangkok, the city he grew up in as a kid.

The song glimmers in a dreamy haze of synths and while Kim's lyrics remain relatively abstract, it feels like he bares himself most here than on any other song on the album. He sings about rising over city streets with 'the waters of the sea' and being 'like a bee in a hive without a queen'. There is a sense of having made peace with missed chances but wondering if you've spent too much time looking back.

Listen to ’Rama VI’ here. Are you in for a treat? Then watch Kim Janssen’s gorgeous live version of ‘Cousins’ at Into The Great Wide Open last week.
