Sleepless Records is thrilled to announce that Justin Wright – the Montreal cellist & composer hand-picked for support duties by luminaries such as Colin Stetson, Hauschka, Johann Johannsson and Bing & Ruth – is gliding calmly into the spotlight with his debut long player Music For Staying Warm, out April 5th.

A former molecular biology researcher, Justin Wright takes an exploratory approach when creating music, integrating composition, production, and recording into a single process.

Wright has released a sweeping new song & video to coincide with the album announcement. "DRONE I" pushes the boundaries between classical and experimental music; it blurs the lines between synthetic and acoustic sounds, and heavily features Wright’s innovative cello compositions. The visuals feature an ice skater gracefully navigating through a crowd, filmed in ultra-slow motion to draw on the track's frozen-in-time feeling.

Over the duration of Music For Staying Warm, nine experimental compositions and improvisations are unwound for the listeners pleasure, each with its own gentle patience, inviting you to “relinquish your sense of anticipation” and enjoy the drift.
