Today sees esteemed electronic producer and DJ Jayda G announce the upcoming release of her DJ-Kicks mix for the prestigious series by !K7 records. Alongside today’s announcement, Jayda shares her sun-kissed new single, ‘All I Need’. Watch the video here and pre-order Jayda’s DJ-Kicks here.

‘All I Need’ sits at the forefront of Jayda’s DJ-Kicks mix; it’s a slinky house tune co-produced with James Ford that fizzes with shimmering energy. Combining Jayda’s love of disco and soul music, ‘All I Need’ is a rallying cry for kinship that we have all been longing for over the past year. The accompanying video directed by David Ehrenreich, celebrates the spirit of free party culture, fusing footage of Jayda dancing in the vast wilderness of British Columbia Canada with 25-year-old stock footage of a forest rave in the same region.

Speaking on the track and video, Jayda explains: All I Need’ is a music video that plays around with time. David was able to secure this amazing footage of a rave in British Columbia Canada. While this type of older footage is common in the UK and Europe, the rave scene was not prominent in Canadian music culture at the time. With the visuals placing me at this 90’s rave set in the BC wilderness, the watcher doesn’t know the difference between what is happening now and what was then, truly emulating the words and sentiments of the song in “how i feel know, how i feel then, nothing, nothing, nothing has changed”.

Director David Ehrenreich adds: “Recently these 25 year old forest rave videos surfaced and when I heard ‘All I Need’ it felt fitting to celebrate the spirit of these parties, tap into their mythos. Blurring fact and fiction, ‘All I Need’ is part music video, part anthropological study. We infuse Jayda G’s music into this lineage, a visual nod to the past while listening to the future.

Today’s single follows Jayda’s previous EP Both Of Us / Are You Down, released during summer last year. A love letter to early Chicago and vocal house, ‘Both Of Us’ was a welcome tonic to otherwise doomy times and is now Jayda’s biggest selling single to date. It has so far surpassed well over 14M+ streams, officially entered the Billboard chart for 'Hot Dance/Electronic Songs' at #50 as well as the Spotify Global Viral 50 charting in 16 countries including US and UK. The track also saw Jayda receive her first Grammy nomination for ‘Best Dance Recording’ – a landmark achievement in the producer’s career.
