On the occasion of his upcoming album, 40 MELODIES, coming out November 6th, the trumpeter and composer Ibrahim Maalouf releases a new single Harlem, available on all platforms on October 27th. Back in 2019, the French Lebanese artist, winner of several César and Victoires de la Musique awards, first released this song on his 11th album S3NS. Thus, penning his very first Latin-American composition, inspired by New York City.

For this new version, in a duet with his longtime friend and collaborator, guitarist François Delporte, he also invited the American star bassist Marcus Miller for a groovy featuring! The two musicians had collaborated several times over the years and decided to renew their association for this track. The New Yorker multi-instrumentalist, known for playing with some of the biggest names in jazz such as Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, and France Gall, adds authenticity to this tribute to Harlem.

As soon as the first notes hit, the piece takes us into the streets of New York City, more precisely in the emblematic district of Harlem. Picture the long avenues of this vibrant neighborhood, the birthplace of so many musical movements over the course of time. Ibrahim Maalouf was strolling down those same streets when he discovered new sounds in the early 2000s. From those discoveries, came the inspiration for this track steeped in the essence of Harlem. In the vein of the unique fusion of cultures particular to this famous district, the collaboration between Maalouf and Miller takes us on a journey.

The 40 MELODIES album, due for release on November 6, 2020, is a celebration of the multi-award-winning musician's 40th birthday.
