GREEN CROW COLLECTIVE, the band around singer-guitarist Roeland Vandemoortele who has been impressing audiences for several years, surprises its fans today with an unexpected release, a cover of the 90's eurodance hit 'Turn The Tide' by Sylver. To kick off their summer-Blitzkrieg of live shows, they wanted to release a cover of a song from the opposite end of their musical spectrum. They ventured into the realm of ’90s Eurodance—an intriguing clash of worlds—and found the perfect candidate: the iconic global hit Turn the Tide by Sylver.

The 4 of them got to know the song when they were teenagers, however they were on the ‘Kurt-Cobain’-side, so it wasn’t thinkable to listen to Eurodance tracks. However, everyone, from whichever quadrant you might’ve been, knows this song by heart. And if they are honest, they just love it.

And not only is it a great tune, it also has big sentimental value. It takes you back to a time of struggle and regret, but also hope of getting back on your feet again.

GCC stripped the song down to its core and pulled it into their own universe. Their version was sent off to the original songwriters, composers, and publishers—who responded with a flashy green light and an enthusiastic yes. A bold, vivid, and quirky take that earned full approval.

GREEN CROW COLLECTIVE is still touring intensively with their debut album Hard Drive Error, winning many hearts with their fiery, high-energy live shows.

GREEN CROW COLLECTIVE, describes its own genre as 'EuroDada'. The music is based on Western rock, Eastern scales, and perhaps most importantly, Belgian surrealism. In September 2024 they released their debut album 'Hard Drive Error'. The wonderfully derailing songs are elegantly raised middle fingers against the rules in life and in music. Not against anyone else, but in favor of so much. Freedom, joy of play, and amplifiers at eleven.

Frontman Roeland Vandemoortele toured for ten years both domestically and internationally with the electro-punk duo Too Tangled, and since then has been involved in theater productions with artists such as Rick de Leeuw, Wim Opbrouck, and Otto-Jan Ham. His dream was a new, slightly obscure group capable of making a venue steam with lustful pleasure in no time – think Mano Negra, T.C. Matic, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and 16 Horsepower. He searched and found companions in the multi-instrumental violinist Andries Boone (Guido Belcanto, Mandolinman, Tijs Vanneste, also solo active), bassist Mathias Moors (Mr. Paul & The Lowriders, The Antler King), and drummer-actor-photographer-what-not Bert Huysentruyt (Gorki, Het Zesde Metaal). The kind of men one wonders: where do they find the time to start a band?
