New Hampshire based heavy hitters Great American Ghost are relentless in every way, shape, and form. Hellbent on pushing the heavy music envelope since their inception in 2012, the band has steadily grown as a genre defying group amongst their peers in the metal and -core world. Today, the band is proud to announce their signing to SharpTone Records and the release of “Hymn Of Decay”, their first new song and video since 2022. You can stream the song and watch the official music video HERE. Produced by Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio in NJ, their latest track is the first piece of music written as their new and current lineup with vocalist Ethan Harrison and guitarist Niko Gasparrini joined by Grayson Stewart on guitar and Anthony Laur on bass.

“Hymn Of Decay” is a haunting, heavy tune that evokes an overwhelming sense of anguish. The band continues to explore the full sonic tapestry of heavy alternative music, juxtaposing progressive metal and crushing metalcore with poignant melodic moments. Complex, serpentine riffs weave themselves around hard hitting grooves that propel the song forward, while the tri-vocal delivery emphasizes the complex lyricism of the song.

‘Hymn Of Decay’ is a deeply personal song to me,” states Harrison. “It's a direct reflection of something that I'm experiencing right now with a loved one; dementia. I tried to put myself in their psyche, to understand what they were going through, and with that this song was written.”

The official video for “Hymn Of Decay” adds a strong visual narrative to the song. Grim visuals and stark shots of the band build on a climate of dread and paranoia, pulling the listener into the lyrics and subject matter in an unsettling yet compelling way.

Great American Ghost has always been built on the belief that nothing is off limits or taboo, with everything to be mined as an influence or used as a milestone to further an already sharpened sound. The promise of devastating music with extreme intent is fully realized on their latest release, ushering in a new era for their already impressive discography
