A new chapter begins in global electronic music as Colombian-born, Berlin-based producer and DJ Funk Tribu releases his highly anticipated single Azul and simultaneously unveils TRIBE - a new record label and creative platform reclaiming the dancefloor as a space of identity.

TRIBE arrives as a cultural signal and the beginning of a movement led by one of the most exciting voices in today’s genre-fluid, emotionally charged club landscape.

Three days before his viral Boiler Room debut, Funk Tribu sat at his keyboard without a plan. A delicate, fleeting guitar melody came first, then the chords and everything clicked. The result was Azul - a luminous, trance-imbued anthem full of warmth and momentum.

“It was meant as a special intro for Boiler Room. But it became something way bigger. It’s one of the most asked-about tracks I’ve ever played. People really connected with it. It’s close to my heart - and I’m so excited it’s finally out in the world.”

Azul channels the emotional DNA that defines Funk Tribu’s artistic identity that is nostalgic, euphoric, and perpetually forward-looking.

I think people resonate with “Azul” because it’s personal and honest - it came from a place of real emotion. That sincerity, I believe, is what listeners feel when they hear it. It becomes their story too.

This release goes further than a long-awaited track as it marks the arrival of TRIBE - a multidisciplinary platform built around Funk Tribu’s vision as both producer and cultural intermediary. A space where dance music is reintegrated with emotion and purpose so emerging artists are nurtured not commodified + sound and narrative converge.

TRIBE offers a unique visual identity and focuses on fresh, boundary-free sound. The goal is to give artists complete musical and creative freedom. We want to provide a platform that’s bold, inclusive, and emotionally driven.

TRIBE’s first events are already shaping up to be landmark moments. On September 6, it launches in Bogotá with a large-scale production featuring immersive lighting and visuals as a symbolic homecoming for Eduardo. In October, TRIBE also lands in Amsterdam during ADE in collaboration with Intercel, presenting another ritual rave in one of the industry’s most vital cultural hubs.

You can expect a lineup of artists who’ve never played in Colombia before, and a lot of new music I’ve been working on that will be released through TRIBE. We're also developing an immersive visual experience to go hand-in-hand with the music.

Over the past two years, Funk Tribu has become a key figure in the new wave of trance-influenced, genre-crossing club music. With viral Boiler Room sets (2.5 million streams and counting), a successful debut album (Against All Odds, Oct 2024), and performances at Awakenings, Creamfields, Dreamstate LA, Time Warp, and Glitch, he’s evolved from rising talent to international force. His music - emotive, groove-driven, and fearless - taps into something today’s audiences are longing for.

The inception of TRIBE lands at a pivotal moment in the evolution of dance music. Around the world, genre boundaries are dissolving, and identity is taking center stage. Leading artists are moving past pure functionality and leaning deeper into emotional expression. TRIBE embodies this shift and Azul is a portal into this next phase - one where electronic music once again aspires to be human, and heart-led. Where the dancefloor isn’t merely for escapism, but for community. TRIBE is here.
