- APRIL -
Kicking off proceedings on April 3rd is Patterns regular FOUNDATIONS party, with DnB / jungle all-star IndiKa who’ll show off her love for all things hi-BPM sounds. That Saturday, Pretty Weird label boss Barely Legal returns with a selection of bass oddities along with techno upstart IMOGEN, a selector who has earnt some serious kudos. The following weekend sees the legendary Brandon Block plays at Patterns, armed with a selection of house spanning from funky grooves to acid beats. Patterns invite dream team RAW SILK back to the basement for their second installment of 5 Hours In A Disco on the 11th, after their Pride weekender set last year that was nothing short of iconic. Across the rest of the month find Demuja with deep disco, raw house and more (18.04) plus an all-star Critical Music team for Foundations on the 24th April with Voltage, Particle, Kasra. Finishing the month on a high, Patterns invites curveball king DJrum to the basement along with Bristol’s Bruce, expect a genre-splitting journey through angular techno, garage, house, breaks and everything else between.

- MAY -
May starts with another Foundations party with Hamdi, Pavv & Hatter; expect a movement through UKG beats for this session. On Saturday the 2nd, dynamic duo Brame & Hamo (or as they refer to themselves ‘Irish Ant and Dec’) descend on the basement with their usual on-point selection of anthemic house and raw techno. It’s a super-strong 5th birthday takeover from the 7th until the 9th May, join Patterns in celebrating five years of making magic. On Thursday it’s regular student session Midnight Funk Association taking over the ground floor for feel-good vibes. Bossman Chimpo will host a Dubplate centric Foundations on Friday; a packed night of rare acetate gold and never heard before dubs from Manchester’s absolute finest. Up on Saturday it’s club faves Leon Vynehall and Peach on the agenda, the first time the duo pair up for a B2B that’ll last a full-on five hours of infectious, energetic jams (five hours for five years of Patterns.) It’ll be wall to wall fun across the weekend, more info to follow. May is shaping up to be a packed-out month, and the space will once again exclusively host ‘The Late Escape,’ the late-night parties for The Great Escape festival. SHOOK take the reins on the 15th with Nina Las Vegas, LSDXOXO, FAUZIA and a B2B with DJ Plead, TSVI (yes, what a line up!) plus on Saturday there’ll be an exploration of left-leaning bass as esteemed label Timedance marks five years in the game with label boss Batu, Laksa, Akiko Haruna (Live), Metrist and much-loved resident Mehtola. Always an annual highlight for Patterns, this should not be missed!

Things don’t slow down next week as UK Funky / Hardcore boss Coco Bryce joins on 22nd, and LuckyMe / Night Slugs affiliate, the one, the only Jacques Greene, fresh off the back of his recent album Dawn Chorus along with salute the following night. Moving into the last weekend of the month there’s another belting Foundations installment Lenzman, Satl & Fox, and the return of the almighty Horse Meat Disco on Saturday 30th. As always there’ll be stellar house, disco and feel-good anthems all night long. More will be announced in the coming weeks, keep your eyes on Patterns socials for updates.

- JUNE -
June packs plenty of heat through the month from alt-indie electronica to gun-finger worthy garage. First off, dubstep bosses Sicaria Sound host the first Foundations of the month; there’ll be weighty explorations from all things 140bpm. These pairs sets here are always the stuff of legends! Next week, the South London Press boss and dubplate king Riz La Teef steps up on 12.06, with Birms MC Mez and almighty selector Grandmixxer. On a different tip, next week Friendly Fires take to the decks with a DJ set spanning all things indie disco, alternative pop, and classic cuts. Another icon joins that weekend; enter DJ Storm, the first lady of DnB. During the final weekend of June there’ll be vibes-a-plenty as Session Victim bring a live set to the Patterns basement, plus UK club icon Greg Wilson next night selecting an eclectic blend of house, edits, disco and rare grooves.

Patterns has grown to become a home for music, art and culture in Brighton. The downstairs basement space is a perfect gig spot and club venue, and the upstairs is a chilled hangout where guests can relax inside or on the beach-facing terrace.
